David Dunlop's Essential blogposts on Seascape Compositions

The American painter, teacher and broadcaster, David Dunlop, does us painters (beginners onwards - and those just interested in it too) all a favour by compiling his extensive practical knowledge of the practice of painting... with the history of it's compositional aspects, in his well illustrated blogposts.

No one else on the internet (that I've found so far) can cover the history and practice of painting in such a concise, easy to understand and practical way. From ancient art to today. As well as his own beautiful paintings and photographs.

The selection below centers around creating seascape paintings. But they're perfectly relevant for the photographer too. I don't always agree with his opinions but they're definitely food for compositional thought.
